Anthony & Stephanie | Lombardis on the Bay | Wedding Photography| Shannon Lee

Congratulations to Anthony and Stephanie who celebrated their love this past weekend at Lombardis on the Bay.

Anthony and Stephanie met at a mutual friend's party and it was clear from the start that they had a special connection. Stephanie feels that her late father hand picked Anthony from up above just for her.  Ever since then, these two have been inseparable. Unless of course, that is if Anthony is scheduled to leave on deployment with the United States Air Force. He was scheduled to leave for tour the week after his wedding, but the day of the wedding, he got an amazing phone call that said he could stay. He has served 3 tours in the past and was very excited to be able to enjoy his honeymoon with his bride.

Stephanie is an amazing part of this partnership. She is the ying to his yang. She is full of life and works as a phlebotomist at St.Charles Hospital.  She wore a gorgeous gown from Fantasia Bridal, located in Rocky Point, Ny.

Lisa Lisa was there as a dear friend of theirs and sang two songs to them during the reception. As a fan of 80's/90's music, I was very excited to witness that.  It was an unbelievable night despite the rain and heavy fog. I wish this couple many years of love and happiness.

Snow days! |Long Island's Bomb Blizzard 2018| Shannon Lee Photography

Winter days on Long Island are very unpredictable. Will it be cold this year or mild? Will we get early snow, or late snow, or no snow at all? One thing for sure, is that if it does snow, a lot of us hope for a snow day so we can stay in and cuddle up and enjoy the day. As a parent who works from home a lot with my photography business, these days are a joy because I get to sleep in and not get my boys up to take my toddler to preschool. I am sure, however, that these days do cause some unwanted anxiety when you parents still have to get up for work and figure out the unsupervised child/children situation. With the blizzard that hit the East Coast and many of us here in New York I am sure some of these scenes I captured were also happening in your homes too. I hope you all faired well and stayed warm.

When you are done here, make sure to travel around to the blogs of my fellow photographers to see there amazing work. Next up is Angee and her link is at the end of this blog post.

Board games and snacks! Anyone else almost run out of snacks during this cold spell with the blizzard? I swear they will eat me out of this house.

Candy Land! Santa brought us this game and its a classic for sure. I love it because my little guy can play it with his big brother because he knows his colors. Baby bro is entertained with his leap pad that Santa brought him.

These Magna- Tiles are amazing. We all love playing with them. Great stem play toys for your kiddos. I highly recommend them and we will be buying more ourselves. Everyone wants to play with them.

Where there is a cold spell, there may also be a cold, which calls for home-made soup! I love that my little guy loves soup like his mommy and daddy.

Love this image of my husband reading his hiking book while our 4 year old is playing on his leap pad but looks bored. I feel you buddy, mommy wants to get out too.

How many of you have to run a humidifier to keep the dry air out of our littleness so they can breathe better? On this day we did some drawing and then my son decided it as fun to watch the paper go up in the humidifier air.

Then came the blizzard! The boys were fascinated by all the snow and wind. They were watching daddy snow blow the front yard and the neighbors.

Caitlin & John | Long Island Wedding | Shannon Lee Photography

I had the pleasure of capturing Caitlyn and John's beautiful wedding on Saturday. They are such a beautiful and loving couple. They got married at The Bluestone Tavern in Sayville, NY. It was a beautiful venue for these two to celebrate their Disney kind of love.

Here is a sneak peek of their beautiful day.

Because Girls Just Want to be Mermaids | Photo Session | Long Island | Shannon Lee Photography

When one of my favorite repeat clients contacted me and said that their daughter wanted a mermaid session for her 13th birthday I was all in. Long Island has so many different beaches, that I wanted to make sure I picked the perfect one for her magical birthday mermaid session. Not only did we get a beautiful setting and sunset, we also captured a beautiful double rainbow. What more could a photographer ask for? For a behind the scenes of the shoot, check out the video at the end.

Those blue eyes! They get me every time I capture her.

I captured a few traditional portrait, and then we let the magic of the mermaids take over.

This one is one of my favorites because I used ninja skills and was teetering on the edge of a 4 foot rock to capture it. Her mom captured some pretty awesome behind the scenes shots of that. "You were everywhere and it was amazing!"

It started raining which added some extra magic to our shoot. I just love the simple details, sometimes those are the best shots.

Welcome Home Baby Anson | Long Island Newborn Lifestyle Photographer

I get absolutely giddy when I get to capture a lifestyle session in my clients home. Especially when it is welcoming home a newborn baby. During the winter months on Long Island, it can get cold and wet, so no better place to capture the essence of what makes a family theirs, than their own home. Come take a peek into this family's home and the joy, happiness, and love that lives there.

As you can see, this family adores memories. I was honored to be able to capture another photographer's family.

Big sister is smitten over her little brother. I love how mom is looking at her as she takes in her baby brother.

Cute feet, how could I resist capturing this.

What a beautiful view of this family in their beautiful home.

A Day in the Life of A Long Island Photographer

Here is week two of my personal project as a Long Island Photographer. I love capturing my family, mostly my boys, in this day to day life of ours.

He was playing with his blocks in this beautiful light. He told me it was an ice cream cone. I love his imagination.

He loves being independent. Washing his hands after he brushed his teeth. Soon he won't need to stand on a step stool, that makes me a little sad.

Baby boy loves looking out the window. Love the light highlighting his little features.

His giggle! I love that I caught the in the pocket of light created by the sunsetting outside. Long Island has some beautiful sunsets.

He just loves remotes, remotes of all kinds. I swear he can zero in on them from across the room.

Baking cookies with my boy. I got in front of the camera to capture this one. Not the easiest to do, but to worth it. I Loe this shot.

A stop at our favorite store. We love target. Yes, I am that mom who will give my kiddos goldfish while shopping so I can enjoy my shopping.

Long Island Wedding Photographer | Westhampton Beach| All Hallows Eve

When I met Collete to talk about her big day, she was so excited about what she had planned. As A Long Island wedding photographer, photographing a wedding on Halloween Eve is an exciting opportunity. Collete's favorite holiday is Halloween. I love that her husband, Lou, was all game. There were little details in the wedding such as little skulls on the guy's boutonnières and the bride's bouquet. They had a cake that was spookily delightful, filled with red jam to add to the fun and it was topped with a cake topper that resembled Frankenstein and his bride.

They got married in Westhampton Beach in the beautiful gazebo off of Main St.  The weather was beyond amazing, a warm 78 degrees and sunny. It is funny, most brides want sunshine on their big day, but this bride was hoping for rain to add to the day's theme. The wedding didn't go offwithout a hitch. The chairs never arrived from the rental company so the groomsmen had to borrow some chairs from the local church. Thank you United Methodist Church!

The rain did arrive during the reception though and she was afraid that we couldn't do the sparkler send off. But just as the party was winding down, so did the storm. Lou and Collette, along with their beautiful daughters, family, and friends celebrated through out the evening at Mil RoadHouse and they ended the beautiful day with the sparkler send off.
